SCEDD Seeks Deputy Director

The South Central Economic Development District, Inc, (SCEDD) is seeking to hire a Deputy Director to assist the Executive Director in all facets of operating the District.  The Deputy Director will be expected to perform advanced level professional work in community and economic development activities including housing, city administration, community planning and nuisance abatement/code enforcement.  Work will also involve coordinating District activities with public bodies, public officials, agency committees, state and federal departments or committees and citizens at large.  

The optimal candidate for Deputy Director will have as a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration, planning or a related field and three years progressively responsible professional level experience.  A graduate level degree is preferred.  Additional years of professional level experience may be substituted for formal education.  The Deputy Director must also possess effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills, ability to work independently, and be knowledgeable of state and federal program administration.
