Strategic Planning

Grow Grand Island

As part of ongoing efforts to make the Grand Island community as attractive and supportive as possible for small business growth, existing business expansions, and new business relocations, a diverse group of partners including the Grand Island Economic Development Corporation, the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce, and the Grand Island/Hall County Convention and Visitors Bureau initiated a process to further enhance the business development initiatives in the area. This process resulted in a new, holistic Business Development Strategy that will help the community and the aforementioned partners focus economic development resources in a manner that maximizes efficiency and effectiveness, enhances our prospects for quality growth, and increases well-being for business and workers.

Along side the Grow Grand Island business strategic plan, the City of Grand Island conducted a visioning process called Grander Vision. Many of the initiatives identified in Grander Vision parallels those outlined in Grow Grand Island. In 2015, the two plans, along with the community's housing study, merged to form a joint implementation plan called Grow Grand Island, a Grander Vision for the Heartland.
