The Golf Outing is one of our most popular networking events. This event is held in July at Indianhead Golf Course and consists of 18-hole game with a shotgun start. The Golf Outing is very popular and an annual sellout! The Golf Outing committee helps promote and secure flag sponsors and raffle prizes for this annual event.

Celebrate the season with one of the largest parades on record! Over 90 bands and 80 float entries from across the state of Nebraska march in this October parade. This event draws over 15,000 attendees. GIAEDC & Chamber of Commerce broadcast live from Tourism Downtown Grand Island. The broadcast extends to an audience of more than 35,000.

Big Idea is our local take on Shark Tank. Entrepreneurs submit their concepts in advance, finalists are selected, and they pitch LIVE in front of an audience and a panel of judges. Top ideas receive access to key resources, discounted services, business coaching, and startup funding to launch their business in Grand Island.

Thrive in GI Day welcomes Wayne State College and nearly 40 Career Scholar students to Grand Island. The day features business tours, a working lunch, and dinner, students get a firsthand look at internship opportunities and life in our community—thanks to our partnership with Wayne State College.

2026 Reccurring Events
Business After Hours (BAH) is a Thursday evening networking event from 4:30-6:30 PM that brings together Grand Island business owners, professionals, and community members in a relaxed setting. It's a great way to boost your visibility by showcasing your products, services, and space, whether you're a new or established business.
Hosting is flexible, meaning you can keep it casual with an open house or include elements like a brief presentation, tours, or giveaways.
We will only be scheduling one BAH event per month this year.

Hosting Fee
- Sole Business: $500
- Co-Host: (2 Businesses): $300 each
A Ribbon Cutting or groundbreaking is a celebratory event that marks a major milestone for a business, such as a grand opening, expansion, renovation, or new ownership. These events formally introduce your business to the community while celebrating growth and achievement.
These events are typically held midweek and can include a brief program with speeches, photo opportunities, and tours or product showcases. Hosted with support from GIAEDC & Chamber staff, events typically include brief remarks and photo opportunities and are promoted through newsletters and social media to maximize visibility and community engagement.
Lunch & Learn
Lunch & Learn events are a great way for our members to share their expertise, promote their services, and connect with fellow business leaders in professional, informative setting. These events offer a platform to engage with a local community, build relationships, and provide valuable insights—all over lunch, provided by the host business.
Scheduling & Location
- Lunch & Learns are held from 12:00-1:00 PM and are hosted at a venue selected by the GIAEDC & Chamber of Commerce.
- Event dates will be determined based on the business's preferred timing and coordinated to ensure alignment with the GIAEDC & Chamber's schedules.
- The GIAEDC & Chamber of Commerce will select and coordinate the venue for each Lunch & Learn and will confirm the location with the host business prior to finalizing event details.
Reservation Fee
- To reserve your preferred Lunch & Learn month, a $50 non-refundable reservation fee is required at the time of booking.
- Your reservation will be confirmed once payment is received.

Reach over 2,000 contacts with a dedicated email focused solely on your business, products, or services. E-blasts are $150 each and go out via email on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We’ll gather a bit of information from you and follow up with available dates.
Our Business Spotlights highlight member businesses on social media and are shared on Wednesdays. We’ll schedule a quick visit to your business to snap a photo. Photo ops can be professional, fun, or anything in between—your spotlight, your style.
