What is the Grand Island Community Kitchen Pilot Project?
A special program specifically designed for entrepreneurs in the retail food and beverage industry. The goal of the pilot project is to support budding entrepreneurs and business owners in the food and beverage industry and provide resources to increase productivity.  Participants may receive up to $2,000 in direct business support!

Why is grant funding available to entrepreneurs now?
Grand Island has received an Advancing Economic Mobility grant from National League of Cities’ (NLC). NLC’s Advancing Economic Mobility Rapid Grant program is generously supported by the Gates Foundation. The City of Grand Island, Central Community College-Entrepreneurship Center, and Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation will facilitate the Grand Island Community Kitchen Pilot Project.

How long is the Pilot Project?
The Pilot Project will last just four months. Participants will attend four (4) two-hour learning sessions and one-on-one coaching sessions in October and November 2024. A private commercial kitchen will then be available to participants in December 2024 and January 2025.

What will I learn during the Pilot Project?
During the four months of the Pilot Project, participants will be coached by industry professionals and instructors from Central Community College-Entrepreneurship Center. PLUS $2,000 towards your business.
