2017 EDC Annual Meeting

(Grand Island, NE)—The Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation will host its annual meeting on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Riverside Golf Club. Doors will open for lunch at 11:30AM while the program will begin promptly at noon.

Ms. Courtney Dunbar, Industrial Program and Economic Development Leader for Olsson Associates, will serve as the keynote speaker at the event.
Courtney Dunbar is the Industrial Program and Economic Development Leader for Olsson Associates, a civil engineering firm that was ranked number 116 on the Engineering News-Record list of Top 500 Design Firms in 2016.

Courtney has 19 years of combined career experiences in economic development, site selection, community planning, and project funding. In her current, she leads the industrial client program strategy and is actively engaged in industrial site planning, site selection, site certification, economic analysis, and community planning.

The 2017 Business of the Year award will be awarded to O’Connor Enterprises.  
Founded in 1994, O’Connor Enterprises is a true trailblazer, initiating positive change in the physical and economic landscape of the Grand Island community. Ray O’Connor, founder and CEO of O’Connor Enterprises, owns and manages over 1.3 million square feet of commercial real estate in the divisions of hospitality, office, commercial retail and mixed-use shopping centers, and multi-family housing complexes throughout Central Nebraska.

Recent projects include the redevelopment at Northwest Commons, Copper Pointe, Crane View, and Boarders Inn & Suites to name a few. O’Connor Residential, a subsidiary of O’Connor Enterprises, has also assisted the Guarantee Group, a company owned by Ray’s son Sean O’Connor, with the Copper Creek housing development. Both companies have made headlines with outside the box partnerships and initiatives to meet the needs of our growing community.

O’Connor Enterprises actively supports the Grow Grand Island initiative and the growth at Fonner Park, while financially supporting many local non-profit agencies and the Central Community College Foundation.

Admission to the event is $25 per GIAEDC member and $35 per non-GIAEDC member.
