Omaha Transloading Company
January 4, 2011Omaha Transloading Corporation Expanding to Grand Island, NE
Grand Island Area Economic Development Corp. is excited to announce that Omaha Transloading Corp. (OTC) is expanding its operations to Grand Island and the Cornhusker Industrial Park.
The GIAEDC has been working on recruitment of a transloading facility here in Grand Island for over a year. A number of factors needed to take place in order for this industry to locate at the park.
According to Steve Braithwaite, President/CEDO, OTC has become one of the PREMIER Transloaders on the BNSF Railway system in Nebraska, South Dakota and Western Iowa. Currently based in Omaha, NE, Omaha Transloading Corporation currently is servicing a 300 mile radius surrounding the Omaha area. In addition, they are able to provide their customers with bundled rates from BNSF which is exclusively limited to Premier Transloader's.
With its new location in Cornhusker Industrial Park, OTC will be able to service the Central Nebraska region. Their new site will also allow them to utilize not only the BSF railway system but in the near future the Union Pacific railway.
All of this could not be possible if we did not have FreightCar Rail Services (formerly known as DTE Railcar) cooperation to provide rail service to Cornhusker Industrial Park and OTC. FreightCar America is a member of the GIAEDC and one of Grand Island’s growing industries.
OTC’s new location will be 366 North 80th Road, Alda (just off of Old Potash).
