Railroads
Union Pacific Railroad & BNSF Railroad
Grand Island, Nebraska, is located where it is today because of the railroads locating in this area in the late 19th century. Two major mainline railroads - the Union Pacific and the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe - serve the city. Industrial sites are available on both rail lines.
Both railroads have the capabilities of getting your products across the continental USA and to every major port for the international markets. Both railroads provide daily service on a 24-hour basis with perishables being handled on the first available train. Most major industries in Grand Island are open to reciprocal switching. Transit privileges are available on most commodities.
Amtrak
Amtrak service is available at Hastings, Nebraska, 23 miles south of Grand Island.
The California Zephyr provides direct daily service to such cities as Chicago, Omaha, Denver, Salt Lake City, Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Amtrak Package Express offers shippers of most all commodities an extensive, nationwide service, based upon fixed, predictable schedules.
