Incentives

In order to migrate to the next level of economic development success and quality job growth, the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation has formed a new job creation incentive program. The program is designed to reward companies (new and existing) for their creation of quality jobs. Quality jobs are defined as an average wage of $13.50 per hour, and higher. The incentive is based on the total number of jobs that are to be created.

Structured Solutions to Bring 200 Jobs to Grand Island

Structured Solutions, Inc. of Altadena, California, has chosen Grand Island as the site of its first expansion project, with as many as 200 high-tech jobs created over the next three years.

The computer database business provides loan management systems that integrate best practice origination, servicing, collections, recovery/asset/document management, and accounting into one web-based platform. The company has leased office space at 2621 W. Highway 30, and is expected to be up and running in the first quarter of 2010.

Structured Solutions CEO, Robert Yuan, anticipates a workforce that includes approximately 30 engineers, 57 customer operations employees, 22 managers, and 20 administrative employees – all with attractive compensation and benefits packages.

Marlan Ferguson, President of the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation, said, “We are extremely pleased to welcome Structured Solutions Inc. to Grand Island. This is a highly technical company that will provide employment opportunities for highly educated engineers, management and computer technologists. These positions will add to our technology-based employment without competing with existing manufacturing companies.”

Yuan credits area partnerships that assisted with the project, and access to college campuses, with helping him select Grand Island as his expansion site. Structured Solutions will work with Central Community College’s Grand Island campus to develop training programs and courses to meet the company’s employment needs.

Structured Solutions is expected to qualify for Nebraska Advantage and Customized Job Training funding assistance. Employee training may also be assisted through local incentives.
