NE Wins Governor's Cup

Published on

On March 2, 2017, Governor Ricketts accepted Site Selection magazine's Governor's Cup top national award for the most capital investment projects per capita in 2016. In its press release, Site Selection noted Nebraska's high labor force participation rate (the second highest in the country), quality education system (the second highest high school graduation rate in the country), and reliable power sources (one of the top 10 states for affordable power).

This is the second time our great state has been awarded the Governor's Cup for projects per capita. Nebraska was first awarded in 2014 for its successes in 2013. We came in second to Kentucky in 2015.

Site Selection magazine has been awarding the Governor's Cup annually since 1978. According to their website, this award is given "to the state with the most new and expanded corporate facilities as tracked by Conway Data's New Plant Database."
